  	Rosemary E. (McPhail) Barbee, 93, of Farmersville died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery in Waggoner. Mrs. Barbee was born Jan. 26, 1924, in Divernon, the only child of Mary and Jerry McPhail. She married Robert Barbee on Aug. 2, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1977. She was an active member of Eastern Star since 1954, in which she was a Worthy Matron eight times and most recently part of the Palmyra Chapter 453. She was a member of the Girard Methodist Church since 1982 where she sang in the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Waggoner American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Barbee was a homemaker all her life who loved to cook, knit and crochet. She worked uptown Farmersville in the restaurant for many years before it closed. Her family knew her for having the best biscuits and gravy. She knitted even after she was declared legally blind. She made blankets, throws and washcloths for everyone she knew and didn?t know. She was an avid collector of teapots and penguins and at one time had over 200 teapots. She was often called "Shorty" by her family. Mrs. Barbee is survived by her daughter-in-law Helma McPhail of Farmersville; three granddaughters, Brenda Beal of Jacksonville, Donna (Brandon) Snyder of Glenarm and Missy (Mary) McPhail of Pittsfield, and four great-grandchildren, Peyton and Danyon Beal of Jacksonville and Faith and Jonah Snyder of Glenarm. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, George W. McPhail, on May 23, 2014. Memorials may be made to Farmersville/Waggoner Library or the donor's choice.
