Name |
James I King of SCOTLAND [2, 3, 4] |
- James spent the first 18 years of his rule as a prisoner. On his return to Scotland, James determined to reform his country. His first parliament rectified abuses in taxation and in the justice system, and dealt severely with the factious Highland lords. His reforming policies made James many enemies, and he was assassinated in 1437. [1]
