- Excerpt from "New England Families Genealogical and Memorial: Third Series, Vol. IV": Joseph was a husbandman, residing in Lyme, Connecticut. He was a captain of Connecticut troops in the expedition against Quebec under General Wolfe, and fell on the Plains of Abraham. Two of his sons also served in the colonial army in his company. He sold the lands granted to his father in Saybrook, April 15, 1715.
