      Jackson, LaVerne J. Sr. "Jack" age 91, of Joliet, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center. Born in Joliet to the late Frank and Emma (nee Peterson) Jackson, he was a lifetime resident. He was a decorated WWII Army veteran, who served in the Pacific. A long time parishioner of the Church of St.Jude,Joliet. He was the owner/operator of Complete Janitorial for 25 years. Survived by his wife of 69 years, Ann (nee Vitus) Jackson; children Laverne "Jack" (Charlene) Jackson, richard (Cathleen) Jackson, Gary Jackson, Terry (Debra) Jackson and Shirley (Jay) Koren; and numerous grandchildren and grea-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Barbara (nee Jackson) Zefeldt; one son, bobby Jackson and one granddaughter, Bethany Jo Jackson-Dones. Funeral Services for LaVerne J. Jackson, Sr. will be Tuesday, December 27 2011 at the Church of St. Jude, 2212 McDonough Street, Joliet where he will Lie in State from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the "American Cancer Society" would be appreciated.
