    • OBITUARY OF WESLEY BRYAN

      Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, for Wesley BRYAN, 69, who died in High Plains Hospital in Amarillo Monday, January 28, after an illness of several weeks.

      The Funeral Services will be in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Riley, officiating.

      Wesley BRYAN was lifelong resident of the Perryton area, being born near what is now Bryan's Corner, Oklahoma to the late Mr. and Mrs. W. C. BRYAN.

      He owned and operated a grocery store and service station there from around 1936 until the 1940's when he moved to Perryton to establish the Bryan Oil Company and Bryan Tire Company. He also engaged in farming.

      He was active in the Chamber of Commerce and served as a member of the Perryton school board and the Perryton city council.

      He moved back to Bryan's Corner several years ago and then moved with his wife, Nellie, to Amarillo last fall to be near his son and family, Dr. and Mrs. Gary BRYAN.

      He is survived by his wife, Nellie; his son, Dr. Gary BRYAN; a brother, Louis BRYAN of Perryton; three sisters, Mrs. Lucille SHORB of Lenexa, Kansas, Mrs. Hazel WRIGHT of Guymon, Mrs. Evelyn HINDS of Geneva, Nebraska; and two grandchildren.

      The family requests that memorials be make to the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, 501 West 9th, Amarillo, Texas.

      Burial is to be made in Ochiltree cemetery under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
