- Except from :"Phulp Delano of the 'Fortune' 1621": Thomas lived for a short time in tolland, then moved to Charon ca. 1759. He was chosen as a Deacon of Mr. Knibloe's Presbyterian Church called the "Round top Meeting House" in Amenia. the family actually resided just over the line in CT. the sliver of land along the Dutchess Co. NY border is still known as "the oblong"; and refers to the land that was given to NY by CT in 1730 in exchange for the lower portin of Westchester Co. just above the Bronx.
On 10 Feb 1760 Lois Delano brought recommendations fro the Tolland Church to join the church in Amenia. On 25 Oct. 1774 Deacon Thomas Delano entered a complaint against a member for forgery.
Thomas Delano served in the Rev. War from CT
On 5 Dec. 1781 he was made guardian of his nephew Roger Delano.
On 23 Jan. 1786 Thomas Delano of Sharon sold 10 acres in Sharon to Stephen Delano.
