- Charles G. Comstock, M.D., 92, formerly of Saltillo, died at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec 15, 1990, at Leader Nursing Home, Williamsport.
Services were held Dec. 18 at Calvary Independent Baptist Church, Saltillo. The Rev. Robert Shaffer officiated. Interment was made in Saltillo Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia.
Born May 22, 1898, in Ossining, N.Y., he was the son of the late Charles A. and Edna E. (Waters) Comstock. He was united in marriage to the former Caroline Whittaker in January 1931. Mrs. Comstock died in 1966.
Dr. Comstock is survived by two children: Betty Wentzler, Watsontown, and Robert W. Comstock, Montoursville; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was a member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church, Saltillo.
A 1922 graduate of Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Dr. Comstock received his medical degree from Temple University Medical School. He interned at Beeckman Street Hospital, New York, N.Y., and completed his residency at Peekskill Hospital, Peekskill, N.Y.
Dr. Comstock was employed as medical director for Dravo Corporation, Wilmington, Del., and was later an anesthesiologist at Chester County Hospital, West Chester and J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital Huntingdon. He retired from J.C. Blair in 1960.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
