James HAMBLIN [1] |
- James Hamblin, probably came from Kent County, London, England as did most of the early settlers of Barnstable. He was in Barnstable, Massachusetts in the spring of 1639 and his first house lot of eight acres was at Coggins Pond. In 1686 his house stood on his twenty acres lot on the north side of the highway between the house of Mr. Russell and deacon John Cooper. This latter house lot he bought from Mr.Groom in 1653 or 1654. His will was dated 23 January 1683/4 and he died in 1690. He mentioned his wife Anne in his will and all his children. [1]
