    BAUMER, DONALD LYNN 'PETE'

    Born May 13, 1899, in Eaton County, died January 27, 1999, at the age of 99. Mr. Baumer was a veteran of World War I and was employed at REO Motor Works and fisher Body. He was an active bowler for 47 years and an avid fisherman. Mr. Baumer played drums for Munn's Band in Eaton rapids and was best remembered for his love of his flower and vegetable gardens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Neva L. (Bateman) on February 1,1984; son Kenneth Ripley Baumer who died serving his couontry during World War II on the USS Albacore submarine; and a son-in-law, Charles A. Armitage (1997). Surviving are 3 daughters, Lorraine Armitage of Sarasota, Fl., Marilyn (Avery) Haak of Port Wing, WI, and Linda (Larry) Hodge of Spokane, WA; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb 1, 2pm at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, with the Rev. Wesley B. Emerson officiating. Interment will follow in Dimondale Cemetery, Dimondale. the family will receive friends at the Chapel 1 hour prior to the service.

    Age 82, died Feb. 1, 984. Mrs. Baumer was born march 18, 1901 in Windsor Twp. and was very active in the Girl Scouts. She is survived by her husband, Donald L; 3 daughters, Mrs. Charles (Lorrane) Armitage of FL, Mrs. Avery (Marilyn) Haak of MN and Mrs. Larry (Linda) Hodge of WA; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Leon Bateman of FL and Gerald Bateman of Lansing. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Ripley Baumer, who died serving his country during World War II. Funeral services will be held Sat., 1 pm at the Gorsline-Runciman Lansing Chapel with the Rev. Irwin E. Robertson, Pastor of the Capitol City Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at the Dimondale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Fri. from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
