Myrtle Harris was born in 1885 in Koskiusko County, Indiana to John Harris and Sarah Engle. Her birth year seems to be somewhat nebulous. In 1900, she is listed with her parents and her birth month is given as April 1884 (15 yrs old), in 1910 she gives her age as 24 (1886); in 1920 she gives her age as 30 (1890), in 1930 she gives her age as 40 (1890) and in 1940 she gives her age as 53 (1887). Myrtle married Aden Ellsworth Kerns in about 1901. They had two children, Raymond (1903-1918) and Leroy B. Kerns (1907-1984). Shortly after Raymond's death in 1918, Myrtle and Aden split up. Myrtle is listed with Benjamin Grubaugh in the 1920 census and she lists her status as "married". Aden in also living in Los Angeles in 1920, separate from Myrtle and he lists his status as "married". They apparently divorced shortly after 1920 and Myrtle married Benjamin Franklin Grubaugh. Myrtle didn't have any children with Benjamin. Benjamin died in 1950 and Myrtle did not remarry. Myrtle died in 1966 in Los Angeles, CA
