    Funeral service for Charles P. Shafer, 87, of 310 East Adams street was held at 2 p.m. Saturday with burial at Lakeside Cemetery at Lake Odessa.

    He died Thursday at Ionia hospital. Bearers were Kenneth David, Michael Carpenter, L.D. Stuart and David Cope. Officiating was the Rev. Ray R. Fassett of Zion Evangelical United Brethren church.
