John GIFFORD

He spent his early life in Sandwich, but received land in Dartmouth from his father, be deed together with his brother Robert. He and Robert both moved later to Little Compton. His eldest brother John settled in Connecticut and his other brothers, Jonathan and James, in Falmouth. In his will, recorded book 1, page 43, dated 5 oct. 1746 and proved 6 Dec 1748, he left small sums of money to his children; to his grandson Christopher Borden a 40 acre lot at Watuppa in Tiverton; to son Enos rest and residue.

Christopher married Deborah PERRY in abt. 1685. Deborah was born on 3 Apr 1665 in Sandwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts; died on 23 Mar 1724 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
