    Soon after his marriage he removed to Michigan and settled in Mason, where he established himself in the carriage business. After a few years he sold out and removed to Kalamazoo, where he worked for others, and while doing so he perfected and patented a number of inventions which he sold outright and put the money into a home in the city and a farm in the country which his sons operated for some years. His home is all broken up and he is with one of his sons in Kalamazoo.
