He accompanied the Prince of Wales to Gascony in September 1355. He was summoned to Parliament from 15 Dec 1357 by writs directed 'Edwardo le Despenser', whereby he is held to have become Lord Le Despenser. He was with the King in the invasion of France, October 1359 to 1360. "Edward le Despenser, lord of Glowmorg" died testate aged thirty-nine at Llanbethian, co. Glamorgan, on 11 Nov 1375.
Edward married Elizabeth BURGHERSH before 02 Aug 1354. Elizabeth (daughter of Bartholomew DE BURGHERSH, K.G. and Cecily WEYLAND) died on 26 Jul 1409; was buried in Tewkesbury Abbey. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
