- Residence: Westerlo, Albany County, New York
Notes:
Name:
According to the RootsWeb's World Connect Project - Start searching historical newspapers by Forrest - there is an autobiography for James Wesley Brown. And in this autobiography he describes Elizabeth as "tall and neat as a pin" grandmother. She lived with his aunt Deborah and kept house "on the Ridge above Captain John Smith's." Was called Barthena but recorded name could be Elizabeth, as in the Slauson Genealogy, which lists her as residing at Westerlo, Albany County NY and lists he as married to a "Brown" and married in Pound Ridge, Westchester County where our Samuel Brown lived. Her birth date of 1779 that was given does not quite work with the probable birth dates of her children. It is more probable that she was born between 1770 and 1773, but could even be before that.
