Eleanor H. Slauson Las Vegas, NV Eleanor H. Slauson passed away in Las Vegas on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. She was born in Jackson, Michigan on June 12, 1910 to Edwin and Lena Mecorney. She married Richard Slauson in 1931 and lived in Jackson until they moved to Battle Creek. Eleanor worked at the V.A. hospital and retired after 20 years of service. She loved working in her garden, sewing, painting, and reading her bible. After her retirement she traveled to many wonderful places including two trips to Israel. She was very active in her church teaching Sunday school classes and writing many letters to the missionaries. She was a member of Calvary Baptist church until 2002 when she moved to Las Vegas with her son, Charles and his wife, Kay. Eleanor is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kay, and her two grandsons, Richard of Arizona and Robert of Kalamazoo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was well known as their Aunty. She was preceded in death by her husband, her brother, Lacerne Mecorney and her sister, Dorothy Ordway. Her son, Charles preceded her in death in March 2011. There will be a graveside service in the chapel at Woodland Cemetery, 2615 Francis St., Jackson, Michigan on Monday, July 23 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the donor's choice.
