Age 80, of South Wilmington, IL, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 at Heritage Manor in Dwight, IL with her family by her side. Born November 2, 1929 in Gardner, L to the late Stephen and rose (nee Magnani) McGurk. Member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in South Wilmington, IL and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Wilmington, IL. Surviving were her husband, Joseph, whom she married August 26, 1950 in South Wilmington; one son, Terry Vota of East Brooklyn; three grandchildren, Kortni (Jeff) Emerson, Kara (Ron) Housman, and Krystle (Joel) Carpenter; seven great-grandchildren, Makenna and Madison Emerson, Ayden and Avery Houseman, and Gavin, Kole and Drake Carpenter; one brother, Loren (JoAnn) McGurk of Medina, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were two brothers, Donald McGurk and Evan McGurk, one sister, Teresa Kingman; and her father-in-law and Mother-in-law Al and Marie Vota. Funeral services were at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., South Wilmington Chapel, Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation one hour preceding services. Rev. Matt Mazzuchelli officiated. Interment was in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. The pallbearers were Jeff Emerson, Joel Carpenter, Ron Housman, Brock Riggi, Brandon Riggi, and George Riggi.
