Obituary.....
Rodrick T. ?Rod? Dunn, age 83, husband of Onie Slawson Dunn, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County, Rod was the son of the late Talford P. and Jennie Faye Richey Dunn. A graduate of Boys? High, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War, for which he was awarded a Purple Heart. A graduate of the Carolina School of Commerce, he was retired with 37 years of service from J.P. Stevens Appleton Plant. He was also a licensed insurance agent with Independent Life Insurance, and after his retirement drove a school bus for Anderson School District 5 for 10 years. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Mike Dunn of Anderson; his brother, Jason Dunn of Anderson; and his 3 grandsons, Jonathan Dunn of Spartanburg, Brandon Dunn of Anderson, and Dustin Dunn of Anderson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kendall W. Dunn; a brother, Gary Dunn; and 3 sisters, Fedda Dean Dunn Rider, Betty Jo Dunn Dickson, and Lou Ester Dunn Rainey.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Holland and the Reverend Mark Dickson officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 30, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family will be at the residence.
