Clarence (John) McElroy

Funeral was Tuesday at Perryton, Tex., for former Garden Citian Clarence B. (John) McElroy, 65.

A Sylvia, Kan., native, Mr. McElroy had lived in Garden City until 1942 when he moved to Perryton. He was a retired transport trucker.

Local survivors include a brother, Bill McElroy, 123 W. Hazel; and two sisters, Violet Smith and Dorothy Armstrong, 501 N. 10th. He also is survived by his wife, Nettie, a son, three brothers, a sister and four grandchildren.

Clarence married Nettie Mae WILLIAMS on 29 Jul 1944 in Comache, Oklahoma. Nettie (daughter of Jessie Robert WILLIAMS and Birdie Serene KINCAID) was born on 28 Dec 1922 in Leedey, Dewey Co., Oklahoma; died on 5 Sep 2014 in Clinton, Custer Co., Oklahoma; was buried in Butler Cemetery, Custer Co., Oklahoma.
