    Excerpt from "History of Broome County, New York": Marshall was a town clerk for one year, school superintendent three terms, assessor four terms, commandant of military company district three years, made three enrollments of over 600 names on each list, and has been clerk of school district 47 consecutive years.

    Notes:

    Moses was a charter member of the first Presbyterian Church in Maine vilage in 1819. Was a blacksmith by trade and one of the first to follow that useful occupation in the town. He settled in the northeast of Maine willage. Has been honored with numerous town officesand was a deacon of the Presbyterian Church.

    Excerpt from "History of Broome County, New York": Moses Delano and Nathaniel Slosson are said to have been the firt settlers in the vicinity of East Maine. They located there about the befinning of the present century, and were followed by Samuel Stone and Herman Payne in 1816, and by William Hogg in 1836.
