From "Pioneer Clarke Family (Rootsweb): John Delancey Clarke enlisted in the New York State Militia at Sacketts harbor and erved through two enlistments from 1812-1815 as a private under the command of Captains Daniel Talcott, Grout Hoisngton and Sterling Wilcox. Following the death of his third wife, Chloe, John Delancey Clarke, then about 57 years old, came with his six unmarried children to the then Wisconsin Territory. He died 11 May 1866 in Winchester, Winnebago, Wisconsin.
John married Polly CRAPO on 17 Oct 1809 in Jefferson Co., New York. Polly (daughter of Jonathan CRAPO and Celia Sele CLARK) was born on 15 Mar 1787; died on 25 Aug 1813 in New York, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
