    Services held Saturday for D. C. Gunter

    Funeral services for David Cecil Gunter were held at Lee Funeral Home Chapel, November 20 at 3 o'clock. Reverend Taylor Ballard officiated. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.

    Mr. Gunter, who was 53 years of age, died after a brief illness. Born at Haleyville, Alabama, he was a member of a pioneer family, the son of Daniel Cephas and Nannie Blackwell Gunter.

    Mr. Gunter, a jeweler and watchmaker, had been in business in Winona and in recent years maintained his workshop in his home. Prior to moving to Winona, he had been connected with Brodnax Jewelers, Memphis and Bromberg's of Birmingham, Alabama. He was an instructor at Southern School of Watchmaking at one time.

    Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Helen Gunter, his mother, Mrs. D. C. Gunter, Sr. of Double Springs, Alabama, three brothers, Ray Gunter, Greenville, J. P. Gunter, Venice, California and W. C. Lee, Double Springs, Alabama; one sister, Mrs. R. G. Lamkin, Miami, Florida and a host of nieces and nephews.

    Pallbearers were Robert Stockton, Fred Watts, Garland Lowery, Leo Butler, J. H. Simpson and Guy Oliver.
