  1. 1.  Capt. Henry BEERE was born about 1638 in Newport, Rhode Island; died on 11 Jun 1691 in Society of Friends, Providence, Rhode Island.

    Name:
    He may have been the son of Henry Beere who, at age 24, left England 24 May 1635 on the "Speedwell", bound for Virginia. Henry (Jr.) was made a freeman 20 May 1671 at Newport. He was taxed there in 1680. Henry was a master of a sloop that sailed between Providence and Boston.

    Henry married Patience SCOTT on 20 Sep 1663 in Society of Friends, Providence. Patience (daughter of Richard SCOTT and Katherine MARBURY) was born in 1638 in Providence, Rhode Island; died on 12 Sep 1713 in Newport, Rhode Island. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
